Maltese local people very very rarely say please and thank you so don't be shocked by their general lack of manners, it is basically every man for himself, when you are queuing stand your ground do not do the british thing and let anyone in because another 10 will file past you!īuses are generally good but nearly always busy so be prepared to stand and hang on for dear life! Remember returns are free within two hours with your tickets, TD buses are direct and cost 3 euros per person instead of the usual two, don't expect anyone to offer you their seat because they won't and for some reason they sit on the aisle seat so you need to push past them. Although malta is a beautiful place to visit( this is our third time) there are some things you must know as to local life and people.įirst please please check your footwear, malta streets can be very slippery especially at the entrance to valletta and the bus station so please take care, many times we have nearly ended up on our backs, unfortunately my husband did slip thankfully not hurt so please take care.
